Eat Dessert First

(Warning: this post contains “food porn”… 😉 )

Although I am a “foodie” of all categories, lately I’ve become obsessed with desserts. I don’t think I’m in the minority. I’ve seen T-shirts with the title of this post so I used it.

Tallahassee has two principal dessert outlets. One is a French pastry bakery named Au Peche Mignon, which roughly translates to “guilty pleasure.”

But to date I’ve been focusing on what I believe is the dessert bakery in town: Food Glorious Food, which is also one of the top restaurants in town. It’s been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so…

Let’s start of with the “big” picture: two photos of two (of three) the dessert case shelves featuring most of the desserts, all of which are made on premise.

My goal is to sample every dessert they have at the rate of one visit a week (eating one and tasting my companion’s).  After that, on to Au Peche Mignon.

  1. You are far from a minority when it it comes to being a dessert junkie – and I have this round body to prove it!! 🙄

  2. FGF is one of my favorites in Tallahassee. Many fond memories of tailgates, holidays and just lunch. Ran into Carol Browner there once standing in line. She was so incensed that we were in the same place she turned around and stomped out the door and went across the street to ABC. Guess she needed a drink to calm down. LOL I followed her and got in line behind her again. But she had to at least speak civilly, there were too many witnesses. Now that is a truly fond memory.

What say you?
